FEMA Sets Waukesha Recovery Center Schedule as Washington County Site Now Open

Residents can get in-person help with federal aid for August flood damage.

Overview

  • Waukesha County will host three FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Butler from Sept. 23–30, Brookfield from Oct. 1–4 and 6–11, and Muskego from Oct. 13–17, generally operating 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • The Washington County center in West Bend opened Sept. 18 at the Public Agency Center lower level and runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a closing date to be announced.
  • Staff at the centers assist people with uninsured losses or other unmet needs from the Aug. 9–12 storms, including help filing for federal aid and checking application status.
  • Small Business Administration representatives will be on site to guide applicants on low‑interest disaster loans for physical damage and economic injury.
  • Key deadlines include Nov. 12 to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance and Nov. 10 for SBA physical‑damage loans, with the SBA economic‑injury deadline set for June 11.
