Felix Auger-Aliassime Reclaims Swiss Indoors Basel Title; Jannik Sinner Defeats Daniil Medvedev in Vienna Tournament

Auger-Aliassime celebrates his second straight victory at Swiss Indoors Basel with a tenacious display against Hurkacz; Sinner turns the table on top-seeded Medvedev for the second time this season at Vienna Tournament, marking his fourth win on the tour this year.

  • Sixth-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada defended his title at the Swiss Indoors Basel with a 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5) victory over No. 4 seed Hubert Hurkacz of Poland. This marked Auger-Aliassime's first tournament final appearance in 2023, in which he lost only one set.
  • In the match, Auger-Aliassime showcased a dominant serve, losing just nine service points overall. He clinched the first set with a backhand return that Hurkacz was unable to handle.
  • Hurkacz faced a possible injury in his left leg early in the second set but did not call for a trainer. Despite saving all five break points, four of which were in the second set, he conceded defeat to Auger-Aliassime.
  • In the Vienna Tournament, second-seeded Jannik Sinner of Italy defeated top-seeded Daniil Medvedev with a 7-6 (7), 4-6, 6-3 victory. This marks Sinner's second defeat of Medvedev this season and his fourth win on the tour this year.
  • Despite Medvedev serving 13 aces compared to Sinner's five, Sinner managed a cleaner performance with no double faults compared to Medvedev's eight. Sinner also led in the number of winners, 36 against Medvedev's 28.
