Overview

• Public visits begin October 3 with guided tours on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, limited to groups of 12 for about 50 minutes, with tickets available online.
• Patrimonio Nacional led the approximately €10 million conservation program following an emergency closure triggered by storm Filomena in January 2021.
• Structural consolidation included 536 concrete micropiles, reinforced floors, stitched cracks and renewal of more than 1,000 square meters of slate roofing, alongside a façade restored to its early 19th‑century appearance.
• Artistic work covered murals by Mariano Salvador Maella and Zacarías González Velázquez, textiles, floors and original carpentry, with additional ground‑floor tempera-on-canvas restorations by Juan de Mata Duque, Luis Japelli and Fernando Brambila; full mural recovery continues through late 2026.
• The inauguration featured the Government Delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, Aranjuez mayor Miguel Gómez Herrero, and Patrimonio Nacional leaders including Ana de la Cueva, María Dolores Menéndez Company, Luis Pérez de Prada and Víctor Cageao, and the first month offers a special €5 admission.
