FedEx Driver Arrested for Discarding Holiday Packages in Florida Woods

Latavion Lewis faces multiple charges after admitting to dumping undelivered packages to avoid returning them late at night.

Latavion Lewis, a contracted FedEx driver from Alabama, was arrested in Florida after investigators discovered dozens of undelivered packages abandoned in wooded areas near Bonifay.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office identified Lewis after reports of discarded packages and contacted FedEx for assistance in linking the driver to the route.
Lewis admitted to law enforcement that he discarded the packages at multiple locations because it was late and he did not want to return them to the FedEx warehouse.
Authorities have recovered 44 packages so far, which have been redirected to the Bonifay post office for delivery to their rightful owners, though additional packages may still be missing.
Lewis has been charged with grand theft, illegal dumping, and an organized scheme to defraud, and FedEx confirmed he is no longer affiliated with the company.
