Overview

  • The report, based on responses from 599 Jewish parents, records 781 incidents of harassment, hate speech and violence in elementary and high schools since 2023.
  • Nearly one in six incidents were initiated or sanctioned by teachers or involved school-approved activities.
  • Over 40 percent of reported cases included Holocaust denial tropes, assertions of Jewish wealth or power or blanket condemnation of Jews.
  • The Toronto, Ottawa-Carleton and York Region district boards accounted for almost three-quarters of incidents, and almost half went uninvestigated.
  • Families have relocated children or suppressed visible Jewish identity in response to persistent antisemitism, prompting federal intervention in provincial education.
