- F&F Fine Wines (Ethica Wines) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 941,400 Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG bottles on November 6 after 10 breakage reports, including one laceration injury.
- The affected bottles were sold for about $8 from April through August 2025 at Costco locations in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
- The product can be identified by UPC 196633883742 and Costco Item Number 1879870, and it comes in a green bottle with purple foil and a purple label.
- Consumers are advised not to open or pour the product, to carefully discard bottles—such as by wrapping in paper towels or sealing in a plastic bag—and to contact Ethica Wines for refund instructions.
- The prosecco is made in Italy and imported by Miami-based F&F Fine Wines, and no cause for the shattering hazard has been disclosed.
