Federal Raids in Durango Seize Huge Cache of Synthetic-Drug Precursors

Authorities say the intelligence-led searches targeted supply hubs feeding industrial-scale synthetic drug production.

Overview

  • Agents from the AIC of the FGR led the operation with Sedena, Semar, the National Guard and the SSPC after presenting evidence to a control judge.
  • Three court‑authorized searches in the municipality of Durango uncovered more than 2,000 sacks of granular substances and about 200 drums containing solvents and hydrochloric acid.
  • Investigators also seized 95 containers of chlorine, ammonia and formalin, ten large sacks of precursors, 25 marijuana packages and a tanker with roughly 7,000 liters of illicit fuel.
  • All seized materials were turned over to the federal Ministerio Público, and the properties were sealed and placed under federal custody for further proceedings.
  • Officials reported no arrests or economic impact estimate for this action, which follows recent Durango operations including a 2.7‑ton meth seizure in Cupia and lab dismantlements in Carricitos.
