Federal Police Name Sorocaba Mayor Rodrigo Manga Leader of Criminal Group as Court Imposes 180-Day Removal

A Federal Police report made public on November 12 identifies Manga as the scheme's principal beneficiary linked to his exercise of office. Contracts by 2M Comunicação with Sim Park Estacionamento and the Igreja Cruzada dos Milagres dos Filhos de Deus allegedly laundered more than R$1.2 million. The inquiry also flags suspected fraud in emergency health agreements with the Instituto de Atenção à Saúde e Educação and a R$182,000 cash real-estate purchase. The TRF-3 court authorized the second phase of Operação Copia e Cola and ordered Manga's suspension from office for 180 days. Defense statements call the probe unlawful and assert that finances were documented and declared, while arrests on November 6 included the mayor’s brother-in-law and a businessman linked to the case.
