Overview

  • The settlement covers two major breaches: a 2019 hack exposing personal data of over 51 million customers and a 2024 incident involving call and text records.
  • Of the $177 million fund, $149 million is earmarked for the 2019 breach and $28 million for the 2024 hack.
  • Customers who document financial losses can seek additional compensation of up to $5,000 for the 2019 breach or $2,500 for the 2024 incident.
  • Payouts are expected to be distributed in early 2026 if the settlement receives final court approval.
  • AT&T denies any wrongdoing in either breach but agreed to the settlement to avoid the expense and uncertainty of prolonged litigation.
