Federal Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Claiming Dua Lipa's "Levitating" Infringed on Reggae Group's Song

Dua Lipa won a lawsuit claiming her hit song "Levitating" copied a Florida reggae group's 2017 song "Live Your Life".
The judge ruled the group failed to prove the "Levitating" writers had access to their song.
The judge denied the group's request to move the case to New York to join another lawsuit over the same issue.
"Levitating" spent 77 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number two in 2021.
The group can file an amended complaint, but otherwise the case is dismissed.
