Overview

• Brian Hinds, 51, was arrested Oct. 9 and booked into the Oldham County Detention Center following a joint FBI and Louisville Metro Police investigation.
• The complaint states he sent child sexual abuse material to an undercover officer in August 2025 and later admitted sending and receiving such material during an Oct. 9 interview.
• Hinds is a theater teacher at the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School, and the district says he will not report to campus during the investigation.
• An initial appearance in U.S. District Court is scheduled for today, and prosecutors are bringing the case under the Justice Department’s Project Safe Childhood initiative.
• If convicted, the charges carry a five- to 40-year federal prison range, and the criminal complaint remains an allegation with a presumption of innocence.
