Federal Case Against Turkey Leg Hut Co-Founder Expands With Three New Gun Charges

Prosecutors broadened the arson case with weapons counts tied to alleged marijuana sales ahead of a looming trial date.

Overview

  • A federal grand jury returned a superseding indictment on Oct. 30 adding one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and two counts of felon in possession against Lyndell “Lynn” Price.
  • The filing alleges Price possessed a firearm while distributing marijuana between 2019 and 2022 and identifies a DP-12 shotgun in 2022 and a Dickinson 12‑gauge shotgun with a flamethrower attachment in 2023.
  • Price is not separately charged with drug trafficking, though an FBI agent previously testified that he organized marijuana sales in the Turkey Leg Hut parking lot and sourced supply from California.
  • Price already faces conspiracy and arson counts over the June 2020 firebombing of Bar 5015 and a related vehicle arson, and the superseding indictment adds defendant Javon Harris, arrested Oct. 1 on conspiracy and arson charges.
  • The new firearm-in-furtherance count carries a five-year mandatory minimum, the felon-in-possession counts carry up to 15 years each, Price remains in federal custody since April, and the judge has indicated he does not plan to delay trial proceedings as no new date has been announced.
