Federal and Local Officers to Engage Communities During National Night Out Across Four States
Sheriff’s deputies alongside federal prosecutors will host block parties with safety demonstrations to strengthen neighborhood trust on August 5.
Overview
- U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina will join events in Charlotte, Matthews and Asheville on August 5 to share federal public safety initiatives.
- Assistant U.S. Attorneys and staff in Western Virginia will visit nearly a dozen communities including Abingdon, Bristol and Roanoke to meet residents one-on-one.
- Northern District of Ohio officials will participate in gatherings at Cleveland’s Steelyard Commons, Shaker Heights, Toledo’s Glass City Metropark and Lake County on Tuesday evening.
- San Diego County Sheriff’s Office will host National Night Out from Saturday through Friday at multiple stations featuring K-9 units, bomb-arson teams and search-and-rescue demonstrations.
- Established in 1984 and administered by the National Association of Town Watch, National Night Out mobilizes millions in thousands of communities to foster partnerships and deter crime.
