Federal Agencies Crack Down on Cannabis Companies for Packaging Products to Resemble Popular Snacks

The Federal Trade Commission and Food and Drug Administration sent cease and desist letters to six companies selling Delta-8 THC products with packaging resembling snacks and candies popular with children.
The companies have 15 days to respond with plans to fix the issue or face potential legal action.
Over 125 reports of negative health effects have been linked to THC edibles, including some specifically mentioning copycat packaging.
Products include "Stoneos" designed to look like Oreos, as well as versions of Doritos, Cheetos, and Nerds candy.
While the packaging indicates the products contain THC, the resemblance to familiar snacks poses risks of accidental ingestion by children.
