February Vehicle Verification Deadlines Take Effect in CDMX and Edomex

Edomex’s new UMA-based fines now use INEGI’s 2026 values, with the minimum applied until its infractions database launches.

Overview

  • Vehicles with yellow stickers or plate endings 5–6 have until February 28 to verify in both CDMX and Edomex, while pink 7–8 begin their February–March window.
  • CDMX’s program is mandatory for internal-combustion vehicles registered in the capital and offers online booking through Llave CDMX at citasverificentros.cdmx.gob.mx.
  • INEGI set the 2026 UMA at 117.31 pesos daily, making Edomex fines for lacking a valid verification hologram range from 16 to 20 UMAs ($1,876.96 to $2,346.20).
  • Edomex’s sanction level is designed to reflect driver history, but until the new infractions database is operational authorities will apply the minimum 16 UMA penalty.
  • Edomex allows vehicle retention for violations, and CDMX exempts electric and hybrid I–II vehicles, motorcycles up to 400 kg, certain machinery, and classic/demo/transfer plates.
