- At a Sept. 9 dedication at FDNY headquarters in Brooklyn, 39 names of members who died of World Trade Center–related illnesses were added to the Memorial Wall, which now bears 402 names.
- Officials including Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker, Chief of Department John Esposito and Mayor Eric Adams said the department is still losing members to 9/11-related diseases and pledged continued remembrance.
