Overview

  • Williams Farms Repack LLC distributed the affected tomatoes under the H&C Farms label to wholesalers in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina between April 23 and April 28.
  • The FDA elevated the recall on May 28 to its highest Class I level, signaling a reasonable probability that exposure could cause serious health consequences or death.
  • Recalled items span multiple package sizes and lot codes, including three-pack trays, 60-count boxes and 25-pound boxes marked with codes such as R4467 and R4470.
  • Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled tomatoes and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or to discard them, and those with symptoms should seek medical attention.
  • No illnesses or deaths have been linked to the recall to date, and the exact source of the salmonella contamination remains under investigation.
