FDA-Triggered Pet Food Recalls Target Raw Bistro and Foodynamics Over Salmonella Risk

FDA tests found salmonella in limited lots, prompting focused recalls with no illnesses reported to date.

  • Foodynamics issued a corrected recall of select freeze-dried chicken heart treats sold under Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, Kanu Pets and What’s In The Bowl after FDA sampling detected salmonella.
  • The Foodynamics lots were shipped to retailers in Wisconsin, New York and Florida, and the company traced eight consumer packages, suspended production and is cooperating with the FDA.
  • Raw Bistro Pet Fare recalled its Raw Bistro Dog Fare Grass-Fed Beef Entrée in 3 lb bags and 18 lb cases from lot 239, shipped Sept. 1–17 to customers and distributors in California, Colorado, Illinois and Minnesota.
  • No pet or human illnesses have been confirmed in connection with either recall as of the latest updates from federal regulators and the companies.
  • Consumers are advised not to feed the recalled items, to return or safely discard them, and to wash and sanitize any bowls, containers or surfaces that contacted the products.
