• Jiva Organic ground cinnamon was added to the FDA alert after agency retail sampling found elevated lead, covering lot AF-CINP/822 with a July 2025 best-by date sold at Taj Supermarket in Sacramento and distributed by Spicey World USA.
• The alert now lists 12 brands sold at outlets that include Dollar Tree, Patel Brothers, Save-A-Lot, Eurogrocery and regional markets.
• Retail tests cited in this week’s coverage show some products contained roughly 2.03 to 7.68 parts per million of lead.
• No confirmed illnesses or adverse events linked to the newly recalled cinnamon products had been reported as of the Sept. 12 FDA notice.
• The FDA says retail and import testing will continue, and a separate single-lot Sprout Organics baby-food pouch recall was flagged in the U.S. South Region for potential increased lead.
