Overview

  • On July 21 the FDA upgraded the voluntary recall of Emek Gıda’s Spread Pistachio Cacao Cream with Kadayif to a Class 1 alert, its most severe designation.
  • The CDC has confirmed four Salmonella infections and one hospitalization tied to the jarred pistachio-cocoa spreads after Minnesota sample tests.
  • The recalled “Dubai”-branded jars carry batch code 250401 and a use-by date of April 1, 2027, and were sold at World Market stores in 32 states from June 11 to July 9.
  • Consumers are urged to discard or return affected jars for a refund and to thoroughly sanitize any surfaces or containers that may have come into contact with the product.
  • FDA and CDC investigators are expanding testing to see if other Emek Gıda pistachio cream lots, including those dated October 19, 2026, are also contaminated.
