Overview
- The recall covers grated Pecorino Romano produced by The Ambriola Company and sold under Ambriola, Locatelli, Boar’s Head, Pinna and Member’s Mark brand names.
- Items were distributed Nov. 3–20, 2025 with lot numbers and expiration dates listed through May 2026, including retail cups and bags as well as bulk bags sold by the pound.
- Affected products reached 20 states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
- Stores have removed the cheese; consumers should not eat it and should discard or return it for a refund, with questions directed to Ambriola at 1-800-962-8224.
- No illnesses have been reported to date, though Listeria infection can cause severe disease in pregnant people, older adults and those with weakened immunity, with symptoms such as fever, headache, stiffness, nausea and diarrhea.
