Overview

  • The voluntary recall applies to 154 units of Dark Piñon Single Serve 10-count pods (lot code 251749, UPC 812361033081) with a best-by date of May 8, 2026.
  • An inconsistent application of the clear seal on pod lids allowed certified food-grade ink to run into coffee when exposed to high-pressure, high-temperature water.
  • New Mexico Piñon Coffee president Matthew Bregar said the company initiated the recall out of an abundance of caution and is collaborating with regulators on oversight.
  • No customer illnesses or injuries linked to the recalled pods have been reported since the recall was announced on June 20.
  • Consumers who purchased the affected pods are urged to return them to retailers for a full refund or dispose of them safely.
