  • On July 25 the FCDO warned that baggage handlers will strike every weekend from Friday to Monday in July and August, risking delays at airports across mainland Portugal as well as Madeira, Porto Santo and the Azores.
  • Travellers are urged to check airline or tour operator updates before departure to stay informed of potential schedule changes and disruptions.
  • UK passports must have been issued within the last ten years and remain valid for at least three months beyond the date of departure from the Schengen area.
  • British visitors can use a 90-day visa-free allowance within any 180-day period when travelling to Portugal and other Schengen countries.
  • The Albufeira municipality’s Code of Conduct bans public misbehaviour and carries on-the-spot fines from €150 to €1,800 for offences such as public nudity or street drinking.
