FC Bayern Munich Signs Kamar Baldwin to Reinforce Backcourt

Bayern has overhauled its backcourt with a two-year signing designed to replace its outgoing veteran guards.

Overview

  • Baldwin agreed to a two-year contract with an option for a third season after leaving EuroLeague side Baskonia.
  • Shabazz Napier’s agency confirmed the 34-year-old point guard is now a free agent after one season in Munich.
  • Baldwin offers extensive international pedigree, having played in Turkey, the G League, Italy and Spain and averaged 7.1 points and 3.7 assists per game for Baskonia.
  • The 27-year-old starred for BG Göttingen in the 2021/22 BBL season and has averaged over 20 points per game as Georgia’s starting point guard in EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers.
  • Sporting director Dragan Tarlac praised Baldwin’s leader mentality and unfinished upward trajectory as crucial for Bayern’s BBL title defence and deeper EuroLeague ambitions.
