FBISE Overhauls SSC, HSSC Grading With New A++–D Scale

The change introduces finer performance bands and descriptors to more clearly distinguish student achievement.

Overview

  • Implementation begins with SSC-I and HSSC-I in the First Annual Examinations 2026, extending to SSC-II and HSSC-II in 2027.
  • Top bands are A++ for 96–100 percent labeled Extraordinary, A+ for 91–95 percent labeled Exceptional, and A for 86–90 percent labeled Outstanding.
  • Middle bands include B++ for 81–85 percent labeled Excellent, B+ for 76–80 percent labeled Very Good, and B for 71–75 percent labeled Good.
  • Lower bands are C+ for 61–70 percent labeled Fairly Good, C for 51–60 percent labeled Above Average, and D for 40–50 percent labeled Emerging.
  • Scores below 40 percent are classified as Ungraded, and students who do not qualify may reappear under stipulated conditions.
