Overview

• Two students, ages 8 and 10, were killed and 17 people were injured, most of them children, and the police chief said he expects all the wounded to survive.
• The attacker fired from outside through the windows during a school-opening mass at Annunciation Catholic Church in south Minneapolis.
• Investigators identified the suspect as Robin Westman, in their early 20s, who died by suicide in a nearby parking lot, and police say the assailant acted alone.
• The shooter carried a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol that were legally purchased, and searches of connected residences recovered additional firearms.
• A YouTube video or manifesto linked to the suspect was removed with FBI assistance and is being examined by experts as part of the ongoing inquiry.
