FBI Arrests ISI-Linked Terror Suspect Harpreet Singh in U.S.

The alleged Babbar Khalsa International operative, wanted for 2024 Punjab grenade attacks, faces extradition as U.S.-India counterterrorism efforts intensify.

According to details available, terrorist Passia left India on April 1, 2018 for Dubai carrying old passport number N 1260543 and returned to India on February 4, 2019.

  • Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia, was arrested in Sacramento on April 17, 2025, by the FBI and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in coordination with Indian authorities.
  • Singh is accused of orchestrating multiple grenade attacks in Punjab, including a 2024 attack on a retired police officer's residence in Chandigarh, alongside Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Sandhu (Rinda).
  • The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had named Singh among India's most wanted in January 2025, offering a ₹5 lakh reward for his capture.
