Overview

  • Harpreet Singh, alias Happy Passia, was arrested in Sacramento by the FBI and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) on April 18, 2025.
  • Passia is accused of orchestrating 14 of the 16 grenade attacks in Punjab over the past seven months, targeting police posts, religious sites, and public figures.
  • Indian authorities had issued a ₹5 lakh reward and a non-bailable warrant against Passia in connection with the 2024 Chandigarh grenade attack.
  • Passia, an operative of Babbar Khalsa International and ally of Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda, entered the US illegally and used burner phones to evade capture.
