FBI Arrests Florida Man in Plot to Bomb New York Stock Exchange

Harun Abdul-Malik Yener, 30, was apprehended after an eight-month investigation into his plans to target the NYSE with an improvised explosive device.

Harun Abdul-Malik Yener was arrested on November 20, 2024, after planning to bomb the New York Stock Exchange, aiming to cause mass casualties and disrupt the U.S. government.
The FBI began investigating Yener in February 2024 after a tip about bomb-making materials in a Florida storage unit, where sketches and components for explosives were found.
Yener collaborated unknowingly with undercover FBI agents, constructing and testing explosive devices at a secure facility provided by authorities.
He recorded a statement declaring the attack as the start of a 'new revolution' and selected the NYSE for its symbolic value and perceived security vulnerabilities.
Yener also considered other targets, including schools, malls, and power plants, and had a history of researching explosives and attempting to join extremist groups.
