Babbar Khalsa man wanted to target Mahakumbh: Police

Overview

  • Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia, was arrested by the FBI earlier this week for entering the US illegally and is now in custody in California.
  • Singh is wanted in India for his alleged involvement in a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) plot to attack the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj earlier this year.
  • The plot was uncovered following the arrest of Lazar Masih in March 2025, who revealed Singh's role during interrogations by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF).
  • Authorities have linked the attack plan to a transnational BKI network coordinated by operatives in Germany, Pakistan, and the US, with support from Pakistan’s ISI.
  • Indian agencies are working to extradite Singh for further investigation into his connections with BKI and ISI and his role in the disrupted terror plot.
