FBI Agent Carjacked in Washington, D.C. Amid Rising Carjacking Incidents

An off-duty FBI agent was carjacked near Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., marking the latest in a string of high-profile carjackings in the city.
The agent's vehicle, a blue Chevy Malibu, was stolen at gunpoint but was recovered about 30 minutes later in a location about a mile away.
The vehicle contained the agent's body armor and radio at the time it was stolen. The agent was not harmed in the incident.
Carjackings in Washington, D.C., have more than doubled this year, with over 900 incidents reported so far.
The FBI's Washington field office and the Metropolitan Police Department's carjacking task force are investigating the incident.
