• State police arrested James Russell Kahl, 65, and Carly Kahl, 41, on Sept. 3 following a search of their Redstone Township residence.

• Investigators reported a bedroom with no beds, boarded-up windows, feces on the walls, fleas, and limited food and clothing.
• Troopers documented three exterior deadbolts and no interior handle on the children’s door, with cameras hardwired to the father’s room; surveillance equipment was seized.
