Overview

• “Amrum” will have its German premiere on October 3 at Filmfest Hamburg, which runs from September 25 to October 4 and offers free admission on its opening day.
• The film adapts Hark Bohm’s autobiographical novel and was shot on location on the North Sea island of Amrum to capture 1945 authenticity.
• It follows 12-year-old Nanning as he helps his mother feed their family during the final days of World War II on the island.
• The ensemble cast features Diane Kruger, Matthias Schweighöfer, Laura Tonke, Jasper Billerbeck, Detlev Buck and includes 86-year-old Bohm as the old man at sea.
• Warner Bros. Germany will handle domestic distribution and Beta Cinema has secured international sales.
