Father Killed Protecting Family During Dallas Home Invasion, Suspects Still at Large

Pregnant wife, Elizabel Cardenas, now faces sonogram appointment alone following tragic loss.

Juvenal Antero, a 24-year-old father, was shot and killed during a home invasion in Dallas, Texas, while protecting his 4-year-old son and pregnant wife, Elizabel Cardenas.
Two men knocked on the family's door asking for a plunger, then forced their way in and one of them pointed a gun at Antero's son.
Antero jumped in front of his son and was shot by the intruders, but was able to return fire before collapsing.
Cardenas, who is 11 weeks pregnant, was scheduled to hear their baby's heartbeat for the first time in a sonogram appointment, which she will now attend alone.
No arrests have been made and the suspects remain at large.
