• On Sunday around 7:20 p.m., Wilson entered the water near the B Ocean resort on Seabreeze Boulevard after spotting his two daughters struggling in the ocean.
• Ocean Rescue lifeguards who ended their shift at 7 p.m. turned back and reached the scene first, rescuing one daughter while Wilson held the second afloat.
• Bystander Eslam Saad also entered to help but became overwhelmed before managing to swim back safely.
• Wilson and Saad were taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where Wilson was pronounced dead and both girls remained under observation in stable condition.
• The Fort Lauderdale Police Department has opened an accidental drowning investigation into the Father’s Day incident.
