Father Convicted of Murdering Infant Son in Leicester

A Leicester man faces a life sentence after being found guilty of murdering his five-week-old son, who sustained a 'snapped' neck and multiple fractures.

  • Michael Davis, 29, was convicted of murder and two counts of causing grievous bodily harm to his son, Ollie Davis.
  • The infant suffered extensive injuries including a broken neck, 23 broken ribs, and fractures to his skull, collar bone, both arms, and all limb joints.
  • Kayleigh Driver, the baby's mother, was acquitted of murder but found guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child and causing or allowing serious physical injury.
  • The jury was informed that Ollie's injuries, which included a total of 37 fractures, were inflicted up to 10 days before his death.
  • Sentencing for Davis and Driver is scheduled for April 10, with the trial judge indicating a mandatory life sentence for Davis.
