Father Charged After Toddler's Hot Tub Death at Kissimmee Airbnb

Detectives upgraded the case to aggravated manslaughter following a finding of neglect.

Overview

  • Deputies and fire rescue responded just after 3:30 a.m. to a home off Nice Court in Kissimmee where a 20-month-old was found unresponsive in a hot tub.
  • The child was transported to AdventHealth Celebration and was pronounced dead shortly after 4:30 a.m., according to the sheriff's office.
  • The father, 33-year-old Reynard Tyrone Hough, told detectives he fell asleep while holding his daughter in the hot tub and awoke to find her unresponsive.
  • Hough was first arrested on a charge of child neglect with great bodily harm, and an aggravated manslaughter of a child charge was added on Sunday.
  • Authorities say the child appeared to have drowned, the home was listed on Airbnb, and Hough remains in custody at the Osceola County Jail as the investigation continues.
