Father Braves Hurricane Debris to Walk Daughter Down the Aisle

David Jones trekked nearly 30 miles through storm-ravaged roads to attend his daughter Elizabeth's wedding in Johnson City, Tennessee.

David Jones, 64, faced numerous obstacles, including washed-out roads and fallen debris, during his journey from Boiling Springs, SC, to Johnson City, TN.
Determined to make it to his daughter’s wedding on time, Jones walked 17 miles after his car journey was halted by state patrol officers.
Jones encountered several hazards, including knee-deep mud and debris, but kept moving with the mantra, 'My daughter is getting married at 11, and I'm going to walk her down the aisle.'
A state trooper and a former coworker offered him assistance along the way, helping him complete his trek just in time for the ceremony.
Jones presented his daughter with a reflective marker he carried during his journey, symbolizing protection and love, which moved her deeply.
