Fatal Woodside Bike Crash Under Investigation, Separate Filoli Collision Injures Cyclist

Investigators seek witness tips at 650-363-4911 with the pickup driver reported as cooperative.

Overview

  • A bicyclist was struck by a pickup truck around 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Highways 35 and 84 intersection in Woodside known as Four Corners.
  • The cyclist was airlifted to Stanford Medical Center in critical condition and died Saturday, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
  • The San Mateo County Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the probe, and authorities have not announced any cause or charges.
  • Sheriff Christina Corpus offered condolences and urged vigilance and care for cyclists, pedestrians and drivers on local roads.
  • On Sunday near Filoli at Canada and Edgewood roads, a separate crash injured another cyclist, with severity not yet confirmed as officials gather details.
