Fatal Stabbing and Assault on Venezuelan Women in Colombes Prompt Dual Investigations

An inquiry into voluntary homicide is under way with police seeking suspects in the separate armed robbery of two Venezuelan women.

  • In the early hours of August 16, a sex worker was found fatally stabbed in a short-term rental on Rue Gabriel-Péri in Colombes and three others suffered knife wounds.
  • The Nanterre prosecutor’s office has opened a voluntary homicide and attempted homicide investigation and placed an uninjured bodyguard and another sex worker in police custody.
  • Around 6:30 p.m. the same day, two 20-year-old Venezuelan women were assaulted by three men in a separate rented apartment, one wielding scissors, and robbed of their phones and several hundred euros.
  • Both Venezuelan victims sustained minor facial injuries and were treated at Louis-Mourier hospital.
  • Investigators are reviewing witness statements, CCTV footage and forensic evidence as they pursue detained suspects and search for others involved.
