• Paramedics pronounced the gunshot victim dead at the scene and authorities have withheld the person’s identity pending next-of-kin notification.
• Dozens of patrons were detained at the unlicensed after-hours venue, which police say has operated without a permit.
• Oakland Police Department homicide detectives are leading the investigation and have confirmed it is not a federal case.
