Fatal Plane Crash Near EAA AirVenture Kills Two

The Lancair ES aircraft went down in a farm field near Wittman Regional Airport on the first day of the Oshkosh air show.

The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. CDT, two miles south of the air show grounds.
Emergency responders found the plane fully engulfed in flames upon arrival.
The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into the incident.
Operations at Wittman Regional Airport were temporarily halted following the crash.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released pending family notification.
