  • Greater Manchester Police confirmed a 19-year-old died near the M66/M60 Simister Island after a pursuit of a blue BMW X3, with referrals made to the force’s Professional Standards Directorate and the IOPC and no arrests reported.

  • Cheshire Police said a pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision with a Volkswagen Caravelle on the M6 northbound near Knutsford, and officers appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.
  • A 70-year-old driver died when a Jaguar collided with a parked MAN truck on the A14 at Stowmarket, seriously injuring a passenger and closing the westbound carriageway for about 14 hours as investigators appealed for footage.
