- Manuel Maria Trindade, of Forcados Amadores de São Manços, was gored and thrown into the barrier during his first pega on August 22 at Campo Pequeno.
- He received first aid at the ring, was transferred on assisted ventilation, was diagnosed with brain death at Hospital São José, and later died after a cardiorespiratory arrest.
