Overview

• Shortly before 5 a.m. Friday a single-vehicle crash on Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge left at least one person dead.
• Ridge Meadows RCMP shut both eastbound and westbound lanes between 287th Street and Jim Robson Way and closed 240th Street from River Road to Hill Avenue.
• BC Emergency Health Services dispatched multiple ambulances to the scene but reported no transports to hospital.
• Investigators from the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are conducting a detailed on-site examination.
• Commuters have been advised to plan alternative routes until authorities lift the closures.
