• Contra Costa County deputies initiated a pursuit of a Lexus but terminated it after the driver began driving the wrong way on Highway 160.
• Shortly after the pursuit ended, the Lexus collided head-on with a Mercedes near the Antioch Bridge, resulting in the Lexus driver's death.
• The Mercedes driver was airlifted to the hospital, while two other vehicles, a Honda and a Dodge Durango, were also involved in the crash, leading to additional injuries.
• The California Highway Patrol and Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office are jointly investigating the crash and the events leading to it.
• The eastbound Highway 4 to northbound Highway 160 connector, closed overnight for cleanup and investigation, reopened at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday.
