Overview
- Attorney Tyrone Blackburn was taken into custody on June 25 in New York City after a warrant was issued for allegedly reversing his vehicle into a 66-year-old process server delivering lawsuit papers.
- The incident occurred on May 12 when the process server suffered a minor leg injury during service of Fat Joe’s April lawsuit accusing Blackburn and Terrance Dixon of extortion and defamation.
- Dixon and Blackburn first demanded $3 million on March 23 for uncredited songwriting work before sending a second letter on April 21 alleging rape, forced labor, sex trafficking and fraud.
- Fat Joe filed a civil suit in April against Dixon and Blackburn for extortion, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress in response to the initial demand letters.
- On June 19 Dixon countered with a $20 million federal lawsuit claiming the rapper forced him into thousands of sex acts, withheld payment and denied songwriting credits.
