Overview

  • NHAI recorded about ₹150 crore in upfront fees within four days from the ₹3,000 prepaid option.
  • Tamil Nadu leads in purchases, followed by Karnataka and Haryana, with the most transactions logged in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
  • The pass applies only to non-commercial vehicles and covers roughly 1,150 National Highway and expressway plazas for up to 200 trips or one year, while state or local plazas may still charge regular tolls.
  • Activation is done on an existing FASTag via the Rajmargyatra app or the NHAI website, typically going live within two hours after eligibility checks.
  • Support has been expanded with plaza nodal officers and a strengthened 1033 helpline as Rajmargyatra downloads surpassed 1.5 million, and media reports warned of phishing that drains FASTag wallets with guidance to use official channels and avoid suspicious links.
