Faridabad Raid Uncovers 360 Kg Suspected Ammonium Nitrate and Weapons in Probe Linked to J&K Doctors

Police traced the cache to a rented house in Dhauj after disclosures from an arrested medic.

Overview

  • A joint J&KHaryana police and IB operation recovered roughly 350–360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate, IED parts and ammunition from a rental in Dhauj, Faridabad near Delhi.
  • Faridabad’s police chief said the seized material is not RDX and the recovered weapon is an assault rifle not an AK‑47, with the haul including 20 timers, batteries, remotes, a pistol and live rounds.
  • The seizure followed interrogation of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, whose inputs led investigators to Dr Muzammil Shakil, a J&K‑origin doctor linked to Al‑Falah in Faridabad, with both now in custody.
  • Forensic testing is underway as agencies examine a suspected doctor‑led module, funding routes and possible external handlers, with the NIA expected to join the probe.
  • Officials described the operation as a major breakthrough that may have averted a large attack, and further searches and arrests are being pursued across the network.
