Allegations have surfaced that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been involved in a romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who she hired for the case against Donald Trump and his co-defendants.
Trump co-defendant Michael Roman has filed a lawsuit alleging that Willis financially benefited from the relationship with Wade, who has billed taxpayers $654,000 since January 2022.
Despite the allegations, legal experts suggest that even if the claims are true, it is unlikely to impact the case against Trump and his co-defendants.
Willis has not denied the allegations but has defended Wade's hiring and suggested that race may be a factor in the criticism.
Judge Scott McAfee will hold a hearing on the matter in early February.
